Current Outreach Programs
Paul Revere Elementary School Chicago, IL (Grand Crossing)
Running the entire length of the school year, Paul Revere's tap club is headed up by Tre Dumas. The tap club consists of first and second graders that meet 4 times per week. These meetings culminate in an end of the year program where the students get to show off their learned skills.
Uplift Community High School Chicago, IL (Uptown)
CHRP works with Uplift Community High School throughout the year to provide tap dancing as one of their after school programs. This program is now led by Kristi Burris and has enjoyed multiple years of success.
Salvation Army Red Shield Corps Community Center Chicago, IL (Englewood)
CHRP is proud to partner with the Salvation Army to provide tap dance as an alternative outlet for energy in the Englewood area. This program reaches out to all ages in the Englewood community and is instructed by BAM! ensemble member, Tristan Bruns.
University of Chicago Tap Club Chicago, IL (Hyde Park)
The University of Chicago's tap club began in the Fall of 2008 and is led by Kristi Burris, an ensemble member and Associate Director of CHRP's resident ensemble BAM! CHRP works with this student organization to help provide free tap classes to the students at the University of Chicago.
St. Sabina Academy Chicago, IL (Auburn Gresham)
Tre Dumas leads a tap residency program for 1st - 7th graders at this Chicago academy.
"We All Got Rhythm" Lecture Demonstration toured through Urban Gateways Chicagoland
BAM!'s lecture demonstration, now in it's 3rd year, showcases the best in tap and percussive dance and teaches that rhythm is an innate form of human expression that can be found in every culture throughout the world.
